What a great weekend!

This weekend was full of sun, fun, and family!  Great Grandma and Great Grandpa were gracious enough to babysit while we had some fun fishing on Green Lake with Adam's parents, followed by some ice cream.  Mmmm nothing better than an ice cream cone on a hot summer day.

We weighed Aubrey on the vegetable scale....at 5 weeks she is 11lbs!!!

Then we also got to spend some time with my parents and Aubrey finally met her pony Penny! Penny didn't seem all that enthused though, so instead Cricket gave Aubrey her first pony ride. Thanks Cricket!!

 

Aubrey's Newborn Photos

We had Aubrey's newborn photos taken with one of my best friends Heidi Jo Blush Pictures, LLC at and I'm so in love with every picture that she took!  Aubrey was just 5 days old!!!  Here are just a few of my favorites!

 

1 Month old!

Aubrey turned one month old on my birthday!!! To celebrate we spent the day snuggling and then at night she got to snuggle with Grandma and Papa VandeBrink while Adam and I went out for a nice dinner!

Zucchini Bread

Ahhh it feels good to be baking again!  I knew having a newborn would be exausting but I guess I didn't realize how much and how much your free time is gone!  I finally got back in the kitchen and did some baking with zucchini since it's plentiful this time of year!

Zucchini Bread

Ingredients:

3 eggs, beaten

1 c. oil

2 c. sugar

2 c. pureed zucchini (2 small zucchini or 1 large)

2 tsp. vanilla

3 c. flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. cinnamon

optional - can add nuts but I choose not to

Mix together the dry ingredients.  Add all liquid ingredients and mix together thoroughly.  Place in 2 greased loaf pans.  Bake for 1 hour at 325.

So this post is a little late but I'm finding with a three week old that I'm even more late with things than before she was here! 

August 10th was Adam's 27th birthday!  To celebrate Aubrey dressed up all pretty for her daddy and Adam's family came over for a cookout!

My awesome friend Heidi is an amazing photographer, who owns Blush Pictures, LLC and she graciously took maternity pictures for us when I was about 35-36 weeks pregnant.  Here are some of my favorites that she took!  When Aubrey turned 5 days old we did newborn photos with Heidi as well so now I'm looking forward to seeing those!

Welcome Baby Downs!

On July 22, 2011 at 6:22pm we welcomed Aubrey Marie into our family.  She arrived exactly one week early, weighing in at 8lbs 3 oz and she is just absolutely perfect!  It's hard to imagine that today July 29th was my due date and we've already had a week to spend with her.
